best film: La La Land would be most actresses best film by a landslide but for Stone it’s actually pretty close with Birdman. I have these as the best films of 2014 and 2016 respectively.

best performance:  La La Land. She’s absolutely wonderful in it. She won a much-deserved Academy Award and has several moments of just jaw-dropping acting put on display (the breakup, the ending, the audition). It’s one of the great performances of the decade.

stylistic innovations/traits: Some may scoff at the high placement here for Stone but by my points system alone I actually had her higher. The reason being is her level of performance, in Birdman and La La Land, just don’t happen in big masterpieces. What could hurt her is if these films don’t hold up over the years but I don’t see that happening. Her two characters here are actually extremely different so that bodes well for her future and potential range. She’s a skilled comedian (Superbad so close to being in my archives) though she can do without like she did in Birdman.

directors worked with: Nobody yet more than once but she’s 30. Clearly Chazelle and Inarritu are two of the best auteurs working.
